Synthelast has added new sustainable products to its range addressing the footwear sector. New solutions by this company are innovative and environmentally friendly. With this initiative, the firm shows it chooses to develop highly eco-friendly alternatives to replace materials currently used by footwear makers, for so many of them come from non-renewable resources, like oil. At the same time, by recycling components the company extends their life cycle.
Just like very season, Synthelast is offering a number of alternatives in terms of sustainable products, for they contribute to solve one of our most serious problems today: plastic waste. And that, because 80% of all waste found in our oceans is plastic, and estimates reveal that every year some 8,8 million metric tons are sadly added to this pollution of seawater. “It is essential to reduce waste, by either lengthening the life cycle of products, giving them a second chance, or using non-traditional plastic”, company spokespersons explain.
As a contribution to reducing waste, Synthelast offers clients a line of products for footwear made of thermoplastic rubber and PVC, both produced from recycled materials. This kind of materials offer a more sustainable solution to industries, while preserving excellent mechanical and esthetic properties. Both lines are now about to be certified by INESCOP as ReadyEcodesigned. This ecolabel created by the prestigious technology centre is for raw materials representing a more sustainable alternative for the world of shoes.
On the other hand, the company continues to working towards the use of recycled components in other sectors, for its traditional solutions, including agriculture, food processing, and the automotive sector. Synthelast is thus reducing the use of raw materials, while also designing new products and alternatives.
Synthelast is also investing heavily in the development of plastic from natural sources, also known as bioplastic. Components include fermented natural products like corn, soybean, or sugar cane. This reduces the use of oil-based resources, also eliminating so many traditional chemical substances from the production process.
The company’s catalogue shows a number of items made from biomaterials, and this means it replaces a large volume of traditional, oil-based components, with natural materials.
