Receives EU Notified Body accreditation for personal protective equipment certification

Eurofins Softlines & Leather in Spain is pleased to announce that it has been notified by European Commission as a Notified Body (2865), offering just-in-time assistance to personal protective equipment (PPE) market in such critical time.

Accordingly to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 requirements accredited by ENAC, the certification body in Spain is now capable to issue CE Marking certification and ensure that the PPE products sold in the European market are in compliant with requirements by Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on personal protective equipment. The laboratory’s PPE certification covers protective clothing, safety shoes and protective gloves designed for different risks and protection, including harmful biological agents, mechanical risks, protection against heat or fire, static electricity and others.

The accreditation comes timely when medical PPE is in general shortage of the COVID-19 battle. Apart from this newly accredited PPE certification, the laboratory in Spain delivers also both community face masks and medical face masks testing, enabling efficient market access of these products for the health sectors and public communities.
