30th edition of Calzatecnia in Leon, Guanajuato | The International Footwear Industry Congress will this year be held under the following motto: “Re-imagining Footwear Business”, and is to be held at the Poliforum of the Mexican city on August 22nd and 23rd this year.
Calzatecnia’s 30th edition enjoys a strong position as a meeting point offering opportunities for education, debate and reflection, gathering over 500 technicians, managers and directors of Mexican and Latin American footwear companies who share their knowledge, and experience and learn from expert speakers coming from all around the world, the various aspects of management, strategies and technologies in order to compete in global markets. This year “Re-imagining footwear business” will inspire them to make changes in their companies in order to face the challenge of fierce competition in their sector.
[Extend new] | | The components sector promotes innovation and research, hand in hand with IBV | AEC, Asociación Española de Empresas de Componentes para el Calzado, Spanish Association of Footwear Component Industries, and Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV) signed a collaboration agreement yesterday. Both agencies will develop joint projects, activities and studies in order to empower and promote scientific research, the development of technologies, technical support and training for qualified biomechanical professionals and staff.

| XVIth International Footwear Technicians Congress in Elche | The International Association of Footwear Industry Technicians, (UITIC – Unión Internacional de Técnicos de las Industrias del Calzado) will hold the XVIth International Footwear Technicians Congress in Elche, from October 16th to 18th, 2008. The event is to be a forum where professionals will exchange ideas and knowledge, on the possible contributions of technology to the various stages in the design, production and marketing of footwear products.
During the last meeting held in Elda by the Executive Committee of UITIC it was agreed upon that the dates for the International Footwear Technicians Congress would be October 16th to 18th, and that the location would be Elche.
